The journey

Lago Strobel: more than a trout lake

On the Santa Cruz plateau, Lago Strobel has earned its place among the destinations fly anglers most want to fish. Its waters hold large rainbow trout and reward attention on every cast.

During your stay, we explore 16 kilometers of shoreline, moving between bays and points as conditions change. Our location lets us make use of the prevailing westerly wind, which often puts the breeze at the angler's back and makes casting easier.

The expedition reaches other waters, too. In the linked, closed-basin lagoons, home to rainbow trout, we can fish lighter tackle and floating lines. The Río Barrancoso offers a different day for anglers who enjoy reading and fishing a river; the Arroyo El Moro, a spring creek, adds another way to seek trout.

That range of water lets us adapt the itinerary to the conditions and keeps each day varied. Strobel offers the chance to pursue a big trout while discovering the many waters of the Patagonian plateau.

Ask us about available dates, and let's plan your Lago Strobel expedition.
